Friday Night Listening -

It’s been a long week and I am especially looking forward to a relaxing Friday evening.  

Bill Evans, ‘Waltz for Debby’, seems like a good place to start.  

Moving on the Baker and Evans with WaxTime’s collaboration LP.  Often snubbed by purists, these 180gm WaxTime Lp's are dead silent and very well cut, though I am certain the source is probably digital as opposed to the original or duped master tape.  

Then maybe move into some John Coltrane Lush Life and then maybe some Miles Kind of Blue is always a good listen.  

My wife likes me to move from the modal and cool Jazz into something a little smoother.  John Klemmer’s Finesse is one of our favorites along with Stanley Clarke’s Hideaway.  Might even get to David Sanborns Pearls LP.  

For me, it’s hard to go wrong with Jazz.  When the evening ends, I will often put on a set of headphones, Koss PRO IV III’s are my favorites and get into some Keith Jarret Standards ONE and TWO.  Incredible performances on these two by my favorite Jazz Trio of all time.  

Remember, it’s not about the gear, it’s all about the music and a good bottle of bourbon.
